Middle of October Hooky!

I have had a very busy time getting things ready for a craft fair in November.  I have still had a little time to make a birthday present for my mum
I got the idea from looking at lots of patterns on Ravelry , none of them were exactly what I wanted but it didn't take too much fiddling around to get them to look like this and I am pleased to say they fit very well!  I already have a custom order for another pair to get on with.  These ones were made using Sirdar Simply Recycled aran yarn.

I have also been working over this weekend on another custom order, a cushion, I saw this picture a while ago, and had it pinned on Pinterest.

With the colours chosen from a stock that I already had I got hooking and here is the result:

This is the back

and this is the button fastening.

the main cushion cover is made out of orange, yellow and white organic fairly traded Debbie Bliss aran cotton, the buttons are covered with sirdar simply recycled cotton, as it needed to be a thinner yarn than the aran and this had the best colour match.

I have also been getting into the Christmas spirit a little, I have made star decorations, these snowflakes:

and these very cute little fir cones, I can't wait to make some more and see I am going to need a tree on my stall to display them all!

I have also been given a little present from a dear friend to spur me further into the Christmas theme, a book full of knit and crochet decorations!  Watch this space!
