Crochet flowers are a wonderful thing to be able to make and the skills you use can be transferred to many other crochet projects. They are so versatile to use as well, you might wear it in your hair, on a jacket, scarf or to adorn a bag, the project below is one I did a while ago using beads to decorate them.
Or how about making a rose? This one is done in an autumn inspired colour but would look lovely in spring colours
Fancy making yourself a flower brooch? I have a new workshop coming up with a morning of flower making.
Saturday 7th March 10am to 12.30pm
This will be 2 1/2 hours and will suit beginners to crochet as well as those who can crochet but want to learn something new. The brooch above is an example of what you can expect to achieve if you have some existing crochet experience, for those new to it I will start of you off slowly, learning techniques such as
- making a magic circle
- chaining
- single crochet stitch
- half double crochet stitch
- double crochet stitch
- treble crochet stitch
At the end of the workshop you will have a flower brooch, made from fairly traded organic cotton that you can decorate with either beads or buttons. You will also have written instructions and a hook that you can take home to continue your flower making by yourself.
Cost £25.00 per person
This price includes all materials and take home items and refreshments.
