Two passions in one craft.

Do you remember this picture from the end of my last post?
This is what I made from those three little ingredients, combining two of my favourite things of the moment, beads and crochet:

I then got a little carried away

There were just so many pretty colours of thread that I wanted to try.  The coloured ones have all been done with size 8 multi coloured glass beads.  The white ones are made with size 6 beads in, champagne, gold and topaz.  With the sunlight coming through my front window this morning they looks pretty even without a candle burning in them.

After first threading on all the beads onto my thread I then used a 1.75mm crochet hook.  First doing three rows of single crochet to make a nice firm base and then 9 rows of double crochet with a chain in between leaving a bead in front of the chain one stitch.  I am now completely addicted!

I bought my first 5 glass jars from our local Hobbycraft shop for 75 pence each.  After completing all of those I was completely hooked and so went on to good old ebay and found this pack of 35 for £17.99.  They are a slightly different shape which I actually prefer, these work out at just 50 pence each.
I am hoping to get some orders coming in now to sell them on as well as building a small stock up in the hope that I might sell some at an upcoming car boot sale I am intending to do.

Happy Crafting x.
